About the Artist
I am a nature lover at heart, with an obsession for mechanisms and automatons of all kinds. My work grew out of a combined fascination with biology and science fiction, reflecting our growing merger with and dependency on technology in so many different ways. I am also a bit of a philosopher, which has me highlight questions about our human nature, focusing on themes such as love, loss, hope and despair. These I combine with robotics to create a style that is unique unto myself, as I am still forever a symbolist and surrealist.
About the Art
Aritficial intelligence and analog, that is what my work suggests as I paint about our merger with technology while continuing to be a traditionalist. My clockwork creatures and symbolic assemblies of elements are both a nostalgic throwback to a simpler time, and an acknowledgement that we have nevertheless bridged the gap into the future, because AI is here to stay. But that does not detract from our humanity, since we will forever live out this eternal human condition which inspires artists and poets alike, far off into the eternities.
“The voyage of discovery is not in searching for new landscapes, but in having new eyes.”
— Marcel Proust
